Use the Appointment Requests screen to configure Vello online scheduling.

The Appointment Requests screen
You can use the Appointment Requests screen:
  • To make online scheduling available for clients to use for appointment requests
  • To set the periods that are available for appointment requests (for example, 15 minutes or 30 minutes)
  • To set the days and times that are available for appointment requests
  • To select the staff members that are available for appointment requests
To activate Vello online scheduling, set Appointment Scheduling to Allow Requests:

Note: If online scheduling is not available, the Vello client portal shows a message that tell clients to make a phone call to schedule an appointment.

Visit types

When a client uses online scheduling to make an appointment request, they can set a visit type. The available visit types are wellness visit or sick visit. A wellness visit is for a patient who does not have a medical problem. A sick visit is for a patient who does have a medical problem.

If Vello online scheduling is activated:
  • Clients can always select a wellness visit
  • You can make sick visits optional for clients to select
To make sick visits optional to select, set Sick Visits to Allow Request:

Configuration settings for visit types

To show configuration settings for sick visits and wellness visits, select the Edit button that shows in the Wellness Visits or Sick Visits sections.

The table that follows gives each configuration setting and its function:

DescriptionUse Description to enter general information the visit type.
Tip: Enter information that helps clients to know if a visit type is applicable to their appointment request. For example, for a sick visit, you could enter a Description of My pet is showing signs of illness or discomfort.
Appointment LengthUse Appointment Length to set the periods that are available for clients to select for appointment requests. For example, you can select 15 minutes or 30 minutes.
Available Days & TimesUse Available Days & Times to set the days and times that are available for clients to make appointment requests.

If necessary, you can make different times available for appointment requests during the same day.

Availability LogicUse Availability Logic to select the staff members that are available for appointment requests.
