Mobile phone numbers that are available for Vello text messaging

If a person has a mobile phone number in a client record in your PIMS, you can use Vello to send and receive text messages with them.

Note: Neo customers: It is not possible to use other mobile phone numbers in a client record in Neo for Vello text messaging.

A client record in your PIMS can show more than one mobile phone number (for example, if a client has two mobile phone numbers). If a client record has a mobile phone number, you can use the number for client text messaging.

Most times, the mobile phone numbers in a client record are for the applicable client. But other persons can also have phone numbers in the client record (for example, an emergency contact or a pet sitter).

Note: If a client record has a mobile phone number and it does not show as available for text messaging in Vello, contact customer support for your PIMS.

Kristine Kochanski is a client of Callisto Vets and has three mobile phone numbers in their client record in the practice's PIMS. Kristine uses two of the mobile phone numbers. And Liam, Kristine's emergency contact uses the third mobile phone number. All of the mobile phone numbers in Kristine's client record show as available for text messaging in Vello. And staff of Callisto Vets can make a decision about which person to send and receive text messages with.

Mobile phone numbers for clients in the Vello inbox

If you select a text conversation in the Vello inbox, the conversation view shows:
  • The name of the client
  • The ID number of their PIMS contact record
  • The client's mobile phone number
  • An Additional Contacts button

If you select Additional Contacts, Vello shows the mobile phone numbers that are in the applicable client record in your PIMS:

To send and receive text messages with a person, you can select a mobile phone number in the Additional Contacts section.

Tip: If you want to use a person's mobile phone number to find them in Vello, select the plus button in the Vello inbox:

After you complete a text conversation in Vello, you can sync the text conversation to the client record and the patient record in your PIMS.
