After a practice manager does the necessary configuration for a visit type, clients can use the Vello client portal to make an appointment directly in your PIMS calendar.

1. Open Vello from your PIMS.
   Note: If you use Cornerstone, sign in to mycornerstone.idexx.com to get access to Vello.
2. In the left sidebar, select Appointment Booking.
   Note: If the left sidebar is closed, select the appointment booking button:
   
   
   Vello shows an Appointment Booking screen.
3. Set Online Appointment Booking to Enable.
   
4. In the Appointment Types section, select the pencil button for the applicable visit type.
   
   Vello shows an Edit: dialog box for the visit type.

   Note: If Vello does not have the applicable visit type, select Create New to make one.
5. If you want to change the name of the visit type, use the Client-Friendly Appointment Name box.
   
6. In the Online Booking Type section, select Direct Booking.
   
7. In the Configure Availability section, select Manual Configuration.
8. If applicable, select Include a diagnostic screening opt-in during appointment booking.
   Note: If you select Include a diagnostic screening opt-in during appointment booking, the Vello client portal shows an I'd like to learn about early screening setting:
   
   

   Clients can select I'd like to learn about early screening to tell your practice that they want to learn about diagnostic screening.

9. Use Book to Appointment Type to select the appointment type that is available for clients.
10. Set Default Appointment Length to the applicable time.
11. In the Days section, set available time ranges for each day.
    

    Tip: You can set more than one time range for one day.
12. In the Provider Availability section, select the staff members and rooms that you want to make available.
    

    Note: If you do not want a staff member to show as available for appointments, deactivate the Enable setting for the applicable staff member.
13. Select Done.
    
14. Select Publish Changes.
