ezyVet only: Configure a visit type to use direct booking (planning guide method)

A practice manager can use ezyVet planning guides to configure the available appointment times that the Vello client portal shows to clients. Clients can use the available times to schedule appointments directly in your ezyVet calendar.

To configure a visit type, do this procedure.
Note: As an alternative to this method, a practice manager can configure available days and times for appointments directly in Vello.
  1. Open Vello from ezyVet.
  2. In the left sidebar, select Appointment Booking.
    Note: If the left sidebar is closed, select the appointment booking button:

  3. Set Online Appointment Booking to Enable.

  4. In the Appointment Categories section, select the pencil button for the applicable visit type.

  5. If you want to change the name of the visit type, use the Client-Friendly Appointment Name box.

  6. In the Online Booking Type section, select Direct Booking.
  7. In the Configure Availability section, select Use Planning Guides.
  8. In the Planning Guide Configuration section, select Select planning guide type as available or select Use empty slots as available.

    Note: If you want appointments that clients schedule with direct booking to use an appointment type of a planning guide:
    1. Select Select planning guide type as available
    2. Select the applicable appointment type in the Choose a planning guide appointment type box
    If you want appointments that clients schedule with direct booking to use an appointment type and to use available times in your calendar:
    1. Select Use empty slots as available
    2. Select the applicable appointment type from the Book to appointment type box
  9. In the Provider Availability section, select the staff members and rooms that you want to make available.

    Note: If you do not want a staff member to show as available for appointments, deactivate the Enable setting for the applicable staff member.
  10. Select Done.

  11. Select Publish Changes.

The online booking system has the changes. When a client uses the client portal to make an appointment:
  1. Vello gets planning guide information from ezyVet for the applicable staff member
  2. The client portal uses the planning guide information to show only the days and times that the staff member is available
You can do this procedure again to use planning guides for other visit types. For example, you can do the procedure again for sick visits.
