Vello text messaging: Words that are not permitted
Vello has a set of words that you are not permitted to use in text messages. The words are from the cellular carriers that Vello uses for text messaging and are part of regulatory requirements for SMS messages.
This table shows the words that are not permitted:

If you add one of the words to a Vello text message and try to send it, Vello shows this message:
The contents of this message violate carrier policies. Please rephrase your message and try again.
Other types of words that are not permitted include words that refer to:
- High-risk financial services
- Third-party lead generation services and marketing
- Debt collection or forgiveness
- "Get rich quick" schemes
- Gambling
- S.H.A.F.T. content
- Electronic smoking devices (vapes)
Note: The words are applicable to text messages that businesses send to persons. Thus, you could receive text messages from clients that have the words.
Note: Practice managers cannot make changes to the words.
