General settings

Use general settings to make changes to the general functions of a survey and its questions.

General settings are available for:
  • The survey
  • A question
  • A survey page
  • A question that uses the Panel input type
Examples of what you can do with the general settings:
  • Do not show the survey title
  • Configure the survey to fill the width of the screen
  • Do not show one or more questions
  • Make a question mandatory
  • Change the input type of a question
Note: The general settings include Select a survey language. But English is the only language that Vello can use for surveys.

Use navigation settings to control how clients go to different parts of the survey.

Navigation settings are available for:
  • The survey
  • A survey page
Examples of what you can do with the navigation settings:
  • Show all survey questions in one survey page
  • Show only one survey question in one survey page
  • Configure the survey to automatically go to from one page to the next page
  • Show a table of contents

Input type settings

Use input type settings to control how clients can use an input type that you added to a survey question.

For example, if you open the input type settings for a question that uses the Radio Button Group input type, the survey designer shows settings to:
  • Enter or change the name of each option
  • Set option conditions (for example, show an option if a set of conditions agree)
  • Change the option sequence
  • Activate options that show Other or None

The left side of Example of input type settings shows the Radio Button Group input type in a survey question. The right side shows the available input type settings for the input type.

Question settings

Use question settings to make changes to a survey question.

Examples of what you can do with the question settings:
  • Make changes to a question name or question title
  • Make a question mandatory
  • Do not show a question
  • Change the input type of a question

Condition settings

Use condition settings to make a condition set that controls the function of a survey and its questions. For example, a survey question that uses a Rating Scale input type can show one more text box only if a client selects a low rating. Then, the client can use the text box to tell you why they selected a low rating.

Condition settings are available for:
  • The survey
  • A survey page
  • A question
Examples of what you can do with the condition settings:
  • Show a question or survey page if a set of conditions agree
  • Make a question or survey page mandatory if a set of conditions agree
  • Automatically set a specified value if a set of conditions agree

This image shows an example of some of the conditions that you can set for a question:

Layout settings

Use layout settings to control how and where the survey shows a question. Examples of what you can use the settings to do include:
  • Adjust the text indent
  • Adjust the text alignment for the question title
  • Adjust the the width of the area that shows the question

Thank-you page settings

Use the thank-you page settings to control the thank-you page. The thank-you page shows after a client completes a survey.

Examples of what you can do with the thank-you page settings:
  • Configure the text shown after a client completes a survey
  • Configure the text shown if a client previously completed the survey
