Vello campaigns email builder
Vello campaigns has a email builder that you can use to design the content of an email.
You can use the email builder to:
- Add images to an email
- Add text to an email and make formatting changes (for example, headings or italic text)
- Add sections to an email and change the sequence of sections
- Set colors for backgrounds and borders
- Save an email as a draft
- Show a preview of email content
- Add links to other sites and content
- Add a button that clients can use to book an appointment
- Add a button that clients can use to complete a survey
- Undo changes that you made to the content
- Restore changes that you made to the content
- Make an email subject with AI
Content blocks
To add content to an email, you can drag the applicable block from the left panel to the email as necessary. This table gives the available blocks and what content Vello adds to the email when you use the block:

| Image | You can use the Vello library tab to add an image that Vello supplies, or you can use the My Images tab to add an image that your practice uploaded. Note: In the My Images tab, you can upload PNG, JPG, and GIF files up to 5 MB. To use an image from a web address, select Import URL. Tip: Images that you upload with the email builder for one Vello campaigns email automatically become available for you to select and use in other Vello campaigns emails. |
| Logo | Your practice logo. Note: The Logo block uses the practice logo that you uploaded in the Practice Settings screen. |
| Section | A container that holds other blocks. |
| Book Appointment | A button that clients can use to book an appointment. Note: Your online booking configuration controls the appointments that clients can book. |

Email variables for Vello campaigns
When you use Vello campaigns to make an email, you can select a variable for the email subject. When Vello sends the email to each client, Vello replaces the variable with the correct information.
Note: If you make an email subject with AI, the email subject can automatically include email variables. For more information, refer to Make an email subject with AI for a Vello campaign.
This table gives:
- Each variable that you can select and its function
- An alternative that Vello automatically uses if the applicable PIMS data for the selected variable is not available

Automatic content checks
When you add content to an email, the email builder automatically does checks of the content and tells you about problems with a list. For example, if the email subject is missing, the list shows Enter an email subject. Other checks include:
- Add an image.
- Add text.
- Add a link URL.
- Enter a button label.
Note: The checks do not stop you from sending the email.
