Direct Booking and the Vello client portal

It is important to know about the changes in the Vello client portal after you configure online scheduling to use Direct Booking.

Note: Direct Booking is a beta feature and is only available for specified customers. If you want to try Direct Booking, contact customer support for your PIMS .

Direct Booking and appointments

If you activate online scheduling and use Direct Booking:
  • Clients can use the Vello client portal to schedule an appointment directly in your PIMS calendar
  • Clients cannot make appointment requests and they can only schedule appointments directly
  • The client portal shows a confirmation message that tells clients that their appointment is scheduled

Note: If you use Direct Booking, is not necessary for staff to give approval for an appointment in Vello. As a result, after a client schedules an appointment, the appointment automatically shows in your PIMS calendar.

Direct Booking and medical service reminders

If you activate online scheduling and use Direct Booking, medical service reminders include a link or button that clients can use to get access to the Vello client portal. In the client portal, clients can use Direct Booking to schedule an appointment.
